CRD on track for emissions target
The Capital Regional District (CRD) recently announced that it remains on track to hit the targets in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions that were enshrined into law in 2007’s provincial Greenhouse Gas Reductions Target Act. With an aim of dropping GHG emissions 40 percent by 2030, and 80 percent by 2050, new reports from 2024 indicate that the CRD’s emissions of approximately 1.8 million tonnes of C02 annually show a 30 percent drop per capita within the CRD.
