There were\u00a0none of the issues\u00a0that\u00a0a young immigrating single Irish woman would have had to deal\u00a0with\u00a0in the \u201950s.<\/p>\n<p>Not once did Lacey experience prejudice, sexual harassment, or discrimination. In fact, she was able to attend school, hold down a job, and date who she wanted without anyone in the story batting an eye.<\/p>\n<p><em>Brooklyn<\/em> is a very sweet movie with just the right amount of comedy and heartbreak.
