The man in the window safe at last:<\/b> The puzzling saga of a cardboard cut-out that went missing from Camosun\u2019s A\/V department in January of 1991 came to a conclusion in our April 2, 1991 issue. The piece \u201cMan in window makes appearance at Interurban\u201d detailed how Interurban maintenance worker Alan Perry found Cam Olsun, the cardboard cut-out known as \u201cthe man in the window,\u201d in a garbage bag in a mechanical room in the Jack White Building. \u201cWhen I looked inside I couldn\u2019t believe it,\u201d said Perry in the story. \u201cThere was Cam. I asked if he was alright, but he was speechless.\u201d Although Cam was found unharmed, the search for his captors, who demanded\u2014among other things\u2014parking fees at Camosun be eliminated for Cam\u2019s safe return, continued.<\/p>\n

They didn\u2019t get it: <\/b>The story \u201cCouncil discusses paper takeover in \u2018joke\u2019 motion\u201d talked about how the University of British Columbia\u2019s student council took offense at an April Fool\u2019s Day joke article published by the UBC student newspaper The Ubyssey<\/i>. The story said that students could get GST credit on tuition payments. To retaliate against the joke story, the council members put forward a \u201cjoke\u201d motion to fire the paper\u2019s editors.<\/p>\n

Has it gotten simpler?: <\/b>The story \u201cRefugees\u2019 families want to come to Canada\u201d talked about a struggle which is perhaps more relevant in 2016 than ever: struggles with and delays in the system for refugees and their families who want to come to Canada. \u201cThe government should do everything possible,\u201d said Rivka Augenfeld, president of Table de concertation de Montr\u00e9al pour les r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s, \u201cto allow these families to come forward in the simplest possible way.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
