What drew you to journalism?<\/i><\/p>\n

It was an accident. I\u2019ve always wanted to be a writer and I was in a journalism class where it was suggested that students volunteer for Nexus<\/i>. I wasn\u2019t sure I\u2019d be any good, or even if I would want to continue, but I was hooked after the first article.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the most awkward moment you\u2019ve had while interviewing someone for a story?<\/i><\/p>\n

I was interviewing someone with a lot of experience being interviewed. We both figured out pretty quickly that none of my questions were relevant. It was the shortest, and most awkward, interview I\u2019ve had so far.<\/p>\n

What would you say are the worst\/best parts of your job?<\/i><\/p>\n

I love the challenge. I push myself to write things I don\u2019t like\u2014news\u2014or am too nice to do\u2014reviews\u2014or are just difficult\u2014features. It\u2019s rewarding. The worst part is writing something that is physically painful.<\/p>\n

Why did you originally come to Camosun?<\/i><\/p>\n

A women\u2019s program sent me here to get out of the cycle of poverty and abuse.<\/p>\n

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?<\/i><\/p>\n

I\u2019m a huge gamer. When I\u2019m not gaming, I like to read. I\u2019m also pretty creative, so I enjoy making my own jewelry and colouring.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
