This seven-track release provides various sounds while staying true to Beck\u2019s singer-songwriter roots.<\/p>\n<p>The songs \u201cNothing in Between\u201d and \u201cReckless Heart\u201d showcase Beck\u2019s edgy lower notes, while \u201cFire in the Sky\u201d and \u201cWhen You Left\u201d paint vivid imagery with their lyrics. Standout track \u201cRewind\u201d effortlessly blends haunting melodies and subtle instrumentation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis Little Light\u201d ends the album on a strong note. Packing a folksy punch, Beck uses undertones of Celtic and sea-shanty sounds to invoke nostalgia for her home province before taking us to church in the final chorus.<\/p>\n<p>My only wish for Beck\u2019s album is that it was longer. She had me hooked, and I would love to hear more.
