LA alternative\/soul singer Umi Copper brings a sound that is uniquely his own to the four songs on his debut EP, Requiem<\/i>.<\/p>\n

The thing I like most about Copper\u2019s music is that it doesn\u2019t remind me of anything. While it drips with R&B, soul, and jazz influence, it refuses to conform to mainstream limitations.<\/p>\n

However, as much as I love the unique, velvety quality of the music, I did find some of the songs repetitive. During the title track, I found myself growing bored of the lyrics before the last few bars ended.<\/p>\n
