If they only knew then: <\/b>Our November 1, 1993 issue featured a story talking about how the Camosun College Student Society (CCSS) recently approved a Canadian Federation of Students (CFS) fee increase. The CCSS had recently joined the national student organization; the CFS expelled the CCSS from the CFS in 2018 after ongoing tensions over the past few years.<\/p>\n

Gettin\u2019 sporty: <\/b>The story \u201cInterurban students say \u2018not fair\u2019 to Rec levy\u201d pointed out that some students at Interurban didn\u2019t think it was fair that they had to pay a then-new recreation levy, which had been passed by referendum. \u201cLansdowne has a lot of activities, and we don\u2019t have anything here,\u201d said student Paul Walker. But Camosun recreation and activities coordinator Graham Matthews knew Interurban would become the campus to be at for sporty types: \u201cPatience is the key,\u201d Matthews said in the story.<\/p>\n

Classics never die:<\/b> This issue had a preview of Kaleidoscope Theatre\u2019s rendition of Shakespeare\u2019s Pericles<\/i>; the play, which is one of Shakespeare\u2019s lesser known and was written near the end of his career, was put on this summer on the grounds of Camosun\u2019s Lansdowne campus by the Greater Victoria Shakespeare Festival.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
