Camosun research on the rise<\/b><\/p>\n

Camosun College has jumped from the number 41 spot to number 26 on Research Infosource\u2019s annual list of the top 50 Canadian research colleges. Camosun scored third nationally for research growth; its research income, which is what the final rating is based on, grew 69.2 percent this year. Research Infosource is a Toronto-based research and development organization.<\/p>\n

New coffee house open at Interurban<\/b><\/p>\n

Busy Beans coffee house opened for business at Camosun\u2019s Interurban campus on Tuesday, October 30. It\u2019s located on the first floor of the Centre for Business and Access and is open from 8 am until 3 pm Monday to Thursday and 8 am until 2 pm on Friday; the college says these hours may be extended soon. The coffee is roasted locally; vegan and gluten-free options for snacks are available.<\/p>\n

College launches new sustainability plan\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Camosun College recently launched its 2018-2022 Sustainability Plan. The plan was created with student input and focuses on issues surrounding energy and emissions; food; waste and recycling; and transportation. The plan is available to read at camosun.ca.<\/p>\n

Master-plan feedback<\/b><\/p>\n

On Tuesday, November 27, Camosun College is holding two open house sessions for the public\u2014that includes you, students\u2014to attend. The sessions are a chance for the college to show the progress it\u2019s made with its Campus Master Plan process, and to give people a chance to chat with those involved in the planning. The college is looking for your feedback, so go give it to them from 8:30 am to 11:30 am at the Lansdowne Library Learning Commons 151 or from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm at the Huber Hall Annex at Interurban.<\/p>\n

New writing workshop for Camosun students\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Shut Up and Write! is a new writing workshop available to both students and staff. It takes place every Wednesday until the end of the fall term in the Lansdowne Library Learning Commons 151 from 2 pm until 4 pm. It\u2019s free to attend, and people can come and go as they please.<\/p>\n

Marketing firm launches scholarship for Canadian students\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Toronto-based digital marketing firm Local SEO Search has launched a $500 bi-annual scholarship to any students enrolled at an accredited educational institution in Canada, including post-secondary. Domestic and international students are eligible for the scholarship; to apply, students are required to submit an essay of a maximum of 1,000 words.
