Even though <i>Jesus Is King<\/i> is West\u2019s first deep-dive into religious music, it employs several familiar sounds.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cFollow God\u201d\u2019s Whole Truth sample packs a layered punch reminiscent of West\u2019s earliest beats, and \u201cUse This Gospel\u201d sees a triumphant reunion of the rap duo Clipse, who provide the album\u2019s lone example of dramatic storytelling. However, these moments of brilliance are overshadowed by West\u2019s presence and <i>Jesus Is King<\/i>\u2019s rushed recording process.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cClosed On Sunday\u201d is a tonally confused tribute to Kim Kardashian containing Chick-fil-A-inspired rhymes.
