Trudeau cleared in WE Charity scandal <\/strong><\/p>\n

Ethics commissioner Mario Dion recently cleared prime minister Justin Trudeau in the WE Charity scandal<\/a>, saying that Trudeau didn\u2019t break federal ethics rules, but former finance minister Bill Morneau did. While Trudeau has family members who have financial ties to WE Charity, Dion says that Trudeau and his family members had no opportunity to further their financial interests with this particular situation, which revolved around the now-cancelled $912-million Canadian Service Student Grant program. Dion says Morneau violated conflict of interest provisions on three aspects due to his friendship with WE Charity co-founder Craig Kielberger.<\/p>\n

City seeks input on neighbourhood boundaries, being more welcoming<\/strong><\/p>\n

The City of Victoria is seeking public input on potentially changing the boundaries of several Victoria neighbourhoods. The areas in question are Oaklands, Fernwood, Jubilee, Fairfield, North Park, Harris Green, Burnside Gorge, and downtown. The City of Victoria is also creating a Welcoming City Strategy and is seeking input on that.
