One of the things I\u2019m constantly telling our writers is to never use exclamation marks in journalism, yet here I am, in a headline, sneaking one in. Hey, we\u2019re all a mess of contradictions, right? Right.<\/p>\n

Anyway, you should remember to never use exclamation marks when you write for us (unless you\u2019re using it for humour), which you will probably start doing in September if you don\u2019t already. Because in September, when things are\u2014fingers crossed\u2014back to normal, we\u2019ll be doing our usual September things, pre-pandemic: going into classrooms to talk shop and get some new recruits, handing out copies of our print paper (if we are indeed up and running with our print edition again) and hopefully getting some new recruits along the way, drinking lots of coffee in our office while training new recruits. (We’ll also be launching our new app as well as a more streamlined website).<\/p>\n

The great thing is, you can be one of our new writers in September; any Camosun student can be one of our new writers in September. The only thing you NEED to be to write for us is a Camosun student, actually (also, note: never use all caps in journalism, this isn\u2019t the community centre newsletter, for fuck\u2019s sake) (also: swearing is cheap writing and rarely works; again, only use in humour).<\/p>\n
