After decades performing with bands like Cowboy Junkies and C\u2019mon, finding Top 40 success with Change of Heart, and producing records for numerous notable bands, Blurton went solo in 2019. <i>Second Skin<\/i> is the first for his latest project, Ian Blurton\u2019s Future Now.<\/p>\n<p>Riff-heavy stoner rock with a-late \u201970s\/early-\u201980s revival feel, <i>Second Skin<\/i> is loaded with energy from start to finish. Reminiscent of Dio-era Sabbath with Ozzy Osbourne melodies and a hint of Judas Priest, Blurton and his bandmates don\u2019t waste a moment opening with the lead single, \u201cLike a Ghost.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><i>Second Skin<\/i> is good, but it\u2019s not great. It\u2019s technically sound but it needs a falsetto to round things out.
