The songs on \u2019Til September<\/i>, the latest EP from New Orleans indie pop group One South Lark, successfully encapsulate the emotions of a summer gone by too quickly. The calm and relaxed tone throughout the EP gives the mental image of a lone wayfarer on a beach somewhere, contemplating positive memories.<\/p>\n

But despite the upbeat tempos, \u2019Til September<\/i> lacks the thrilling musical complexity that would help get its songs stuck in your head.<\/p>\n

The EP would be a fantastic addition to the soundtrack of a coming-of-age film, but only in the way that it would blend seamlessly into the background of a scene. Simply put, this EP is not very memorable.<\/p>\n

There is a daydream-like quality to the tempo and key of each song, with the most notable being \u201cPop Star.\u201d Unfortunately, the vocals for each track miss the mark when it comes to my expectations for cadence.
