Hailing from Dallas, Texas, Sloth Fist are a five-piece punk\/rock \u2018n\u2019 roll band that offers up an eclectic mix of songs that are both fierce and melodic on seven-song EP Bombs Away<\/i>.<\/p>\n

The lyrical themes on some of these songs are a bit off the punk-rock beaten path: \u201cFace \/ Off,\u201d for example, details the plot of the 1997 Nicholas Cage and John Travolta movie of the same name.<\/p>\n

The hard and fast beat of the drums all good punk bands need to have was the first thing that caught my attention here. Sloth Fist\u2019s guitar riffs and steady, complex bass lines are also captivating.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The band reminds me of old-school punk rock with their screamed lyrics; fast, rhythmic bass; guitar solos; and large amount of speedy drum work.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve listened to Bombs Away<\/i> several times and will be getting it on vinyl. Given the chance, I would go see them live.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
