Wonder if they\u2019re on Instagram:<\/b> In our January 26, 1998 issue, we reported that some students were concerned for their safety due to their photos being put on display in a hallway outside of their classrooms for the Computer Technology program at the Interurban campus. Students felt this endangered their anonymity, but the college had no plans on removing the photographs. While we don\u2019t have photos hanging outside of classrooms anymore, I\u2019m sure social media has more information on us than a hallway ever could.<\/p>\n

Sounds familiar:<\/b> There were multiple articles in this issue of Nexus<\/i> regarding tuition hikes and the various action plans surrounding it. One article pushed for a student-wide walk out, another for a rally. A familiar theme that seems to transcend time in Victoria is the unsustainable cost of living paired with rising tuition leaving students anxious and, at times, financially stranded.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Cloudy with a chance of toilet paper:<\/b> In this issue, Nexus<\/i> writer Ryan Guenther scrutinized how Victorians dealt with snow. He scoffed at supermarkets being filled with \u201cpeople stocking up for the end of the world,\u201d and talked about how ridiculous meteorology is at predicting actual weather events; Guenther compared it to flimsy tea leaf readings. I really hope this man survived the great toilet paper shortage of 2020. As far as meteorology goes, my smartphone predicted clouds today and it\u2019s only partly cloudy…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
