Speak up:<\/b> In our October 11, 2001 issue we were writing about the aftermaths of 9\/11, and letter-writer Mark Redgwell wasn\u2019t pleased with how we had been doing it. In our previous issue, we had run a cartoon that Redgwell took offence to, saying that its obvious meaning\u2014Americans are racist\u2014was painting with as wide of a brush as recent post-9\/11 anti-Muslim attacks were. \u201cIs the Nexus<\/i> asleep at the helm?\u201d said Redgwell as he signed off his letter. We\u2019re not here to defend editorial decisions from 25 years ago, but we are here to say that today, as back then, we always welcome feedback, good or bad.<\/p>\n

Spoke up:<\/b> In our Speak Up<\/i> column this issue, we asked Camosun students what they were really doing with their student loan money. University Transfer student Mike Gomian told us that, if he gets any loans, he was going to \u201cdonate every single cent to my own hydroponics research project.\u201d The ambitious student said that he intends to \u201cmanufacture and export the best bud on the planet.\u201d A quarter-century later, marijuana is legal, but did the entrepreneurial Gomian take advantage of that? If you\u2019re out there, Mike, drop us a line and let us know!<\/p>\n

Nope:<\/b> No building on Lansdowne campus elicits such confusion among students as the Dunlop House. What is it? Is there food in there? Can we actually go in it? Does anyone know anyone who knows anyone who has ever set foot in that place? Well, I can tell you that in this issue, the story \u201cCheers!
