To risk doing a standup routine in front of what amounts to a pretty tough crowd? Believe me when I say that they are not there for the money.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some Carnegie tips, from <em>The Quick and Easy Way to Effective Speaking,<\/em> that will help. Simply substitute the word \u201cinstructor\u201d for \u201caudience\u201d: Talk in terms of your audience\u2019s interests. Give honest, sincere appreciation.
