As I arrived to the Royal Theatre last night, I came to the realization that Vancouver Island and our surrounding areas have way more Rastafarians than I thought. Well, that\u2019s what it seemed like, anyway.<\/p>\n

Jamaican and reggae colors were in full effect. There were more dreadlocks there than I have ever seen in all of Victoria. Some of the dreads were legitimate, while others were attached to hats.<\/p>\n

The lively audience that Ziggy Marley attracted really made for an amazing show.<\/p>\n

It was amazing to see a venue that I usually find quite regal transformed by the presence of Marley and his reggaelicious band.<\/p>\n

Even though the Royal Theatre is a seated venue, most people were up dancing and flowing to the ultra chill vibes that Marley was giving off.<\/p>\n

Marley didn\u2019t speak with the crowd as much as other musicians do; however, the words in his music were powerful enough to keep the crowd completely entranced.<\/p>\n

There was an uproar of cheering after each song he performed, and Marley\u2019s covers of his late father (Bob Marley) had the audience singing word for word.<\/p>\n

Marley and his band brought out the inner Rastafarian in me and reminded me that there are many others who share that same vibe.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
