1: What do you teach and how long have you been a teacher at Camosun?<\/i>
\nI teach in the economics department. Micro and Macro, mostly. This September I will have been here a year.<\/p>\n

2: What do you personally get out of teaching?<\/i>
\nI like to watch the students applying what they have learned to the real world. That\u2019s when they start thinking like economists.<\/p>\n

3: What\u2019s the one thing that you wish your students knew about you?<\/i>
\nI see patterns in everything, kind of like that Numb3rs<\/i> guy. But I\u2019m not such a dork\u00c9 or maybe I\u2019m more of one.<\/p>\n

4: What\u2019s one thing you wish they didn\u2019t know about you?<\/i>
\nI might seem cold and calculated, but I\u2019m actually a big softie at heart.<\/p>\n

5: What\u2019s the best thing that\u2019s ever happened to you as a teacher here?<\/i>
\nI had a student change their schedule so they could take my class the next term.<\/p>\n

6: What\u2019s the worst thing that\u2019s ever happened to you as a teacher here?<\/i>
\nI recently read a scathing review on ratemyprofessors.com and it really hit me hard.<\/p>\n

7: What do you see in the future of postsecondary education?<\/i>
\nRobot teachers. Well, hopefully not, but I definitely see the virtual classroom idea opening up.<\/p>\n

8: What do you do to relax on the weekends?<\/i>
\nI pack in as much fun and excitement as my kids can handle. There\u2019s lots of running around and screaming.<\/p>\n

9: What is your favourite meal?<\/i>
\nInnovation is the cornerstone to gastronomy, but I do love build-your-own taco night at our house.<\/p>\n

10: What\u2019s your biggest pet peeve?<\/i>
\nThe intrusion of cell phones into the classroom, and our lives in general, has led to a real social\u0118disconnect. I\u2019m all for digital learning, but it still irks me to watch a student staring blankly at their phone the whole class.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
