There’s no denying that many years have passed since the rock duo’s rise to fame in the 1970s, but the sisters, now in their sixties, have still got it.

The vibe throughout the crowd was that of youthful excitement, although the night remained fairly reserved with a good number of attendees understandably being over the age of 50. When the band played their major hits, like “Alone,” “Barracuda,” and “Magic Man,” the energy put into the songs was reflected in the audience; there was so much passion put into vocals and guitar with awesome projections in the background really amping up the show.

Heart (photo: Rob Porter)

Halfway through the night, Heart welcomed to the stage Jason Bonham, son of John Bonham, the late drummer of Led Zeppelin. Bonham had no major spotlight during his performance with Heart and played alongside Heart’s drummer Ben Smith, covering a handful of Zeppelin tunes together for most of the second half of the show.

The final song of the set, “Crazy on You,” generated a lot of energy and applause from the audience, making it an impossible note to end on. After a brief break and the joining of the Total Experience Gospel Choir from Seattle, the band began to play the Zeppelin classic “Stairway to Heaven” and the audience absolutely lost it.

Back in 2012, Ann and Nancy had played this song with Jason Bonham as a tribute to Zeppelin at the Kennedy Center and last night’s performance was equally as mind-blowing: what an amazing opportunity for Victoria to experience their coming together firsthand. To have Bonham be a part of the performance was incredibly powerful, and such a perfect way to end an impressive show.

Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Famers Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart took to an intimate, candlelit stage at Save-on-Foods Memorial Center the night of June 29, where they absolutely killed their tour’s final show in Canada.
