Liquor Store<\/i> revisits the original definition of what it means to be punk, and does it with a certain likeability. California\u2019s Sterile Jets set out to make music that transcends musical restraint.<\/p>\n

Trying to place this album into one genre is nearly impossible. Drawing influences from noise\/art\/stoner-punk and some old-fashioned metal, Liquor Store is an album that leaves the listener a little confused at times. This is, of course, not necessarily a bad thing and is probably the best aspect of this album.<\/p>\n

The vocals resemble bands like Iron Maiden or Black Sabbath, backed by powerful punk guitar riffs inspired by Black Flag. Liquor Store<\/i> is an exciting thrill-ride of an album, but nothing about it is overly memorable. I was more drawn to the experimental tracks on this record, but if you\u2019re looking for fun punk music that concerns itself with nothing but the punk spirit, definitely give this a listen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
