His latest release, <i>The Best Day<\/i>, falls flat on finding just exactly what it wants to be.<\/p>\n<p>A majority of the songs on this record seem to be either trying too hard or not trying at all. I just find myself wanting to go back to classic Sonic Youth albums like <i>Daydream Nation<\/i> and <i>Goo<\/i> when listening to <i>The Best Day.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The album doesn\u2019t offer anything substantially new or exciting for the listener. That being said, it\u2019s still a fun record with good guitar riffs, and bass lines, and, of course, Moore\u2019s incredible vocals.<\/p>\n<p>If you have never heard Thurston Moore\u2019s work, I would recommend starting with the aforementioned Sonic Youth albums.
