The Pack AD

Thursday, February 2

Club 9ONE9, Victoria, BC

When the Pack AD took the stage at Club 9ONE9, they blew the roof off the place.

The night got underway with blues-rock group No Sinner. Colleen Rennison, their drop-dead gorgeous lead singer, got the crowd in the right mood with her dynamic and soulful blues-rock wailing. While this band may be newcomers to the scene, they’re expected to drop their debut six-song EP in March and were catching everyone’s ears on this night. Keep an eye on this band; they’re going to be huge.

Then the guests of honour, The Pack AD, took the stage and prepared to play for a crowd anticipating some real grungy, west-coast garage rock. With no surprise, these masters of the live show, Becky Black and Maya Miller, delivered a true rock show. The crowd was loving it, moshing in the front, headbanging in the back.

The duo played through a plethora of their hardest hitting songs and plenty off the newest album, Unpersons. A highlight from the night was during the midst of the Pack AD’s set they busted out their song “8,” and this had everyone chanting along to the chorus; “I think your friends would hate my friends!” Another crowd pleaser of the night was their previous hit, “Crazy,” from their previous album, We Kill Computers.

It was an outstanding night, and one to be remembered. If you missed this show, keep your ears open for the next time the Pack AD are back in town; they’re always worth it and always offer plenty of bang for your buck.
