Victoria’s annual Ska Fest recently announced the bulk of its 15th anniversary lineup.

Headlining the annual summer music festival, which takes places in downtown Victoria in multiple outdoor and indoor venues July 1-5, are Los Angeles ska/punk/funk legends Fishbone. Led by hyperactive singer Angelo Moore, the band is celebrating its own anniversary this year, having been a band for 25 years.

Other confirmed artists are Barrington Levy & the Detour Posse, The Aggrolites, Los Rastrillos, Providencia, The Expanders, Zvuloon Dub System, Kobo Town, Burnt, Giraffe Aftermath, Bananafish Dance Orchestra, and several others.

A second round of artists, as well as a full schedule, will be announced soon.

One of the Victoria area’s most popular summer music festivals, ska fest is put on by the Victoria Ska Society, which was formed in 2004 by local promoter and radio DJ Dane Roberts to celebrate the high-energy, socially conscious form of music.
