Frog Eyes is back with their first album in four years, after taking a break and releasing an album under the name Soft Plastics in 2020. The Bees celebrates Frog Eyes’ new path in their musical journey with 10 unique songs with an abstract sound and upbeat playing.
This album calls back to youth and the embarrassing and fleeting moments in our lives, and is inspired by Frog Eyes’ past, present, and bright future. The Bees is a more personal album and that shows in the lyrics.
Songs like “I Was an Oligarch” have bursts of guitar and then calming periods of soft music. The songs are creative yet messy in the best way possible. Frog Eyes have a special and hypnotic sound that energizes the mind on this album.
