Parking at Camosun still feels like a money grab: The “joys” of parking at Camosun haven’t changed much now from 25 years ago, as a story in our November 10, 1997 issue proves. However, back then, Camosun students paid twice as much as UVic students for parking because they had no parking-pass options. Now, our hourly rate for parking is cheaper but, let’s be honest here, it’s still a money grab.

Lansdowne vs. Interurban: This issue had an interesting look at Camosun’s campuses: according to the writer, Interurban instructors stressed punctuality and there were mostly older students at that campus, while Lansdowne had more laid-back instructors and was full of directionless 20-year-olds. Very bold statements that, at least now, I don’t agree with.

Buy Nothing Day is coming: An article in this issue reminds readers of an upcoming holiday that I think we all need to celebrate this year: Buy Nothing Day. This is a day to protest our high consumption of resources, and this year, Buy Nothing Day will be on Friday, November 25. Mark your calendars.
