Co-op student wins award

Camosun College Arts and Science Studies student Molly Mifsud recently won the 2022 Co-op/WIL Student of the Year Award. The award was given for her achievements during her co-op at Tall Tree Health. The award is given by the Association for Co-operative Education and Work-Integrated Learning in BC/Yukon (ACE-WIL). This is the 14th year out of 16 that a Camosun student has won this award.

Camosun apprentice wins gold in national competition

Camosun College Plumbing and Pipe Trades apprentice Evan Fraser recently won gold at the Skills Canada National Competition, where he competed in sprinkler fitting. The competition was held in Winnipeg on May 25 and 26, and is the only national multi-trade and technology competition for students and apprentices. Prior to nationals, Fraser and Refrigeration and Air Conditioning apprentice Krista Buzzeo competed in the provincials on April 19; they both won gold.

School of Trades & Technology celebrate students

Camosun’s School of Trades & Technology recently gave out their 2023 awards. The awards celebrate student success; the school has over 2,500 students in more than 30 different programs every year. Awards were given to students in many different areas of study, including Architectural, Motor Vehicle & Metal Trades, Plumbing & Pipe Trades, Culinary Arts, Electrical Trades, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Nautical. Interurban gets STEMmed

Canada’s largest one-day STEM festival, Science Rendezvous, came to Camosun’s Interurban campus on Saturday, May 13. Science enthusiasts of all ages experienced an array of activities including an earthquake simulation, live ultrasound demonstrations, a Camosun tour, and cryptography- and puzzle-inspired games.
